A Keeper to keep?

A keeper’s position is often uncontested as is Kasper Schmeichel’s unquestionable reign here at the King Power club. Fellow second-choice keeper Danny Ward, despite being a Welsh international, seldom finds himself starting in less significant cup games. So that means being the third keeper is pretty much an insignificant spot for 36-year-old Eldin Jakupović.

Jakupović has only played a total of two games for Leicester City during their 2017–18 season. His contract expires on June 30, 2021, and City should try to sell the former Hull City keeper for a sustainable fee rather than to let him go elsewhere for free in June.

Another reason to let the 36-year-old leave is that another young Danish keeper, Daniel Iversen is emerging with a prominent pair of safe hands on loan at Preston North End. Iversen is a loaned player of LCFC. Having started 15 games for the Championship side and has registered 43 saves till now. This loan move certainly provides the 23-year-old to feature regularly as a first-choice keeper for Preston and gain precious experience from the spell.
