After a summer of football and bitter disappointment (if you’re an England fan), the new Premier League season is already upon us. Now Leicester City have the chance to right the wrongs of the past and finally secure UCL qualification which has eluded them for the past two seasons. Undoubtedly, with the quality of the sides around them, it’s not going to be easy, but after careful consideration here is what the writers at Foxes of Leicester think.

Where will Leicester City finish in the Premier League this season?

Tom: 4th

Nathan: 5th- I had put 4th but then Chelsea have just signed Lukaku…

Elliot: 4th

Akash: 4th

Dominic: 5th

Vedant: 6th place finish for LCFC behind Aston Villa in 5th

Damon: 5th

How far will Leicester progress in the cup competitions?

Tom: Win the League Cup maybe for a laugh! Reach the quarter-finals in the FA Cup and Europa League semi-finals

Nathan: Quarter-finals in the League Cup, knocked out by Manchester City on penalties; FA Cup quarter-finalists, knocked out by Chelsea; Europa League winners

Elliot: LCFC will reach the semi-final of the FA Cup and the quarter-finals of the League Cup whilst reaching the final of the Europa League.

Akash: FA Cup semi-finals; Europa League semi-finals; An early exit from the League Cup

Dominic: League Cup quarter-finals; Fa Cup quarter-finals; Europa League semi-finals

Vedant: Europa League winners; Carabao Cup semi-finals; FA Cup quarter-finals

Damon: FA Cup 5th round; League Cup winners; Europa League Semis

Who will finish as Leicester City’s top scorer?

A particularly interesting set of answers here, with three Dakas, two Vardys along with two for Barnes. The most intriguing aspect to watch this campaign is where last season’s top goalscorer for Leicester will fit in the team, Kelechi Iheanacho.

Tom: Patson Daka

Nathan: Jamie Vardy

Elliot: Harvey Barnes

Akash: Patson Daka

Dominic: Jamie Vardy

Vedant: Patson Daka

Damon: Harvey Barnes

What is a good season for Leicester City?

Tom: Getting Champions League football

Nathan: Getting Champions League football through winning Europa League/Top 4

Elliot: 6th place with a cup win

Akash: a Top 4 finish, fighting to retain the FA Cup and progressing to the later rounds of the  Europa League

Dominic: Pushing top 4, being competitive across all competitions and facilitating the growth of youngsters/new additions

Vedant: A good season for LCFC would be to win the Europa League and achieve a top 6 finish

Damon: Top 6 and a decent cup run in one of the three will be great. Winning any trophy should offset any league position though, lets not forget where we were not too long ago. But mainly it would be nice for the injuries to stop, its getting a bit of a joke. With that in mind it would be nice for Wesley Fofana to return to the side before the season is out and score the winner against Villarreal.

Which Leicester City player will positively surprise us?

Tom: Soumaré looks like a diamond

Nathan: I’m not brave enough to say there will be a Pérez resurgence so I’ll say Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Elliot: Kamal Sowah will surprise us if he remains, if not it will be Danny Ward

Akash: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Dominic: Luke Thomas

Vedant: James Maddison after his indifferent 2nd half of last season

Damon: Harvey Barnes will be one of the Premier League’s top scorers and high on the assists charts

Who will finish inside the top four (in descending order)?

Tom: Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Leicester City

Nathan: Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United

Elliot: Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Leicester City

Akash: Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Leicester City

Dominic: Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool

Vedant: Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United

Damon: Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United

Who will be relegated (in no particular order)?

Tom: I want to wait to see how the ‘relegation candidates’ perform before nominating. Apologies

Nathan: Norwich (yo-yo team and lost their best player), Southampton (lost Danny Ings) and Watford (lacking firepower)

Elliot: Leeds, Watford and Norwich

Akash: Brighton, Norwich and Newcastle

Dominic: Watford, Norwich and Burnley

Vedant: Newcastle, Brentford and Watford

Damon: Southampton, Watford, Crystal Palace

At the end of the season, we can see how our writer’s predictions compare to LCFC’s real life performances. Then we can see how right/wrong our writers really were.
