The transfer window is a hare-brained matter. Explaining transfer rumors with binary is impossible. For Leicester City, their forage for a right-winger has been rekindling.

After Leicester City’s shambolic display at the London Stadium, the significant crevices in their enclosed fragility have been exposed ludicrously in front of the world. The embarrassing result is a loud cry for the management to take the last remaining week of the transfer window into consideration to bring in the needed artillery for the team to perform.

The continued search for a right-winger needs to end at some point. It has been going for far too long, which inadvertently is responsible for the Foxes always missing out on their desires by inches. The unattained matter could now turn into a malignant issue if it’s not immediately taken care of.

Leicester City eyes Madueke once again

Leicester City’s interest in the 19-year-old English right-winger Noni Madueke started to fade out after PSV Eindhoven valued its talent much more than the King Power Club was willing to consider. Madueke was another name after a long list of targets that the East Midlanders set to pursue themselves.

I had taken a keen interest in the Eredivisie winger after hearing all about him over the summer. There was simply no way that could keep me away from not checking this prospect out for myself. Was he worthy of all the hype, or was it just another overhyped bust? Because to judge someone based on a highlight reel is unjustified as it shows a compilation of their best moments that is not the reality.

The quest of finding these answers began as soon as the Super Cup started. In that match, Ajax faced PSV in the Johan Cruijff Arena on August 7th. I did not anticipate that I would have to rub my eyes so soon as the magic of Madueke only took two minutes to conjure, and PSV was leading by a goal. Within half an hour, Madueke made it two, again with sheer brilliance. The full-time score was 4-0 to PSV.

I became hooked on this prospect. Despite knowing the astronomical asking price by Eindhoven, I felt they had some leverage of owning such a talent. For the next game, I switched on to PSV’s first game of the season against Heracles. This time despite moments of equal brilliance, Madueke was dry in his efforts till halftime.

However, a new charged-up 19-year-old stormed the pitch in the second half who was hungry to display his name on the scoresheet. Rightfully so in the 63rd minute, a left-footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner was enough to deceive the keeper and attain the motives.

It became the pattern for my next game as he scored against Camburr. He has played nine competitive games in three competitions and has managed to score six goals in total with an assist. Considering he is only 19 and a winger, the numbers are just fantastic.

"“The focus had been on bringing in a left-footed right winger to add more balance to the attack with more pace, guile and creativity but resources were switched to the Vestergaard deal. Noni Madueke at PSV Eindhoven was among the candidates considered, but the Dutch club are determined to keep the 19-year-old England Under-21 international and the asking price was too high for Leicester. A loan move for someone else seems the most likely solution.” source- Rob Tanner via The Athletic."

Yesterday after Rob Tanner reported on this, the Foxes were displeased. Again one of their targets was slipping away from their dreams. PSV failed to stop Benfica from knocking them out of playing Champions League football next season a few hours later.

It marked the onset of the moment when the bargaining power of Eindhoven dropped down considerably. The current situation is that PSV has pondered over and slashed its asking price by half. The reevaluated figure now is around €20m, which is an absolute bargain – if you trust me.

With the added emphasis of Ayoze Pérez already on suspension after regularly not making significant strides, it’s time for Leicester City to not miss out on another talent. There is already interest from Wolves and Bayern Munich. They have all been constantly monitoring the player in the Netherlands.
