Leicester City players are once again being linked with super clubs in moves away from the King Power. Here is all the obscene gossip on exits.
Despite being stated as ‘monitoring’ or ‘closely watching’ multiple players, particularly centre-backs, Leicester are yet to make a signing this January with moves unlikely. But yet again, more stars are linked away from the King Power.
So, let us have a brief look at the two players joining Wilfred Ndidi, Youri Tielemans, Kelechi Iheanacho, and the rest of the first team squad in being linked to either super clubs or rich clubs; and, I shall also detail while those rumoured moves are highly unlikely.
Leicester City’s wonderkid
As is being reported by SportWitness, French centre-back Wesley Fofana is seeing the most intense links away since joining the Premier League side. It is by no surprise that the links are towards Spanish super club Real Madrid.
As part of their bid to reinvigorate their previously star-studded squad and provide depth, the Madrid side are hunting for young and impressive talent in multiple positions. Any team looking for a star should be looking at ‘Little Wes’. Brendan Rodgers would not like to see such links.

The suggestion is that – certainly not this January – but at some point after Fofana recovers from his injury, Real Madrid might consider moving in for a rather expensive bid for the player. Before the disgusting – apparently not a red – challenge in pre-season against Villarreal, the defender was on the rise as one of the best young players in world football. Proactive, passionate, aware, pacy, and downright amazing, this centre-back lit the league on fire.
After purchasing the player for a fee of over £30 million, Leicester City would not be letting the defender go for cheap. Any move for Fofana will come at enormous cost to the side looking to steal the ‘wonderkid’ from Rodgers’ side.
Fofana is a fox for the foreseeable future. However, in a couple of seasons, that is when we might see a massive transfer fee in for the player. It might be difficult to say no when the time eventually does arise.
The Belgian right-back
In a completely ridiculous rumour, our Timothy Castagne – the one sidelined for 2-months annoyingly – has been linked with a switch to Italian side Inter Milan. In fact, the gossip even suggests potential – if unlikely – movement this window.

Now, I am never one to begrudge a story being written, but the idea of the Belgian defender switching mid-season – even in summer – from Leicester City where he is lauded as a brilliant addition to the cast, to another super club in Inter Milan is quite preposterous.
At the King Power, the right-back will continue to eventually become the sole first team choice on our right, providing critical depth in all areas of defence, and initiating plenty of attacks with his characteristic link-up play with others – especially the Belgian starman Tielemans.
As with the Fofana story, I find it hard to believe a move would materialise soon for the player. The defender is popular with supporters and with the gaffer, so the likelihood of any breakdown in relations is unlikely, he is also paid well, and has plenty of time left on his current contract.
Once more, in a couple of seasons – with less time on his contract – I could entirely foresee a big money move coming in for the Belgian international. This being said, a move back to Serie A with one of their best clubs does guarantee Champions League football, something the Foxes can hardly offer even with a good season.
