Will Leicester City permanently sign Ademola Lookman?

It’s an issue that was raised when they first loaned him in, but Lookman – whilst versatile – is far more effective when playing on the left, a position vacated by Harvey Barnes. Lookman offers some serious quality and depth at left wing, but he isn’t the starting right winger that City have been crying out for.

The question is, after their reshaping of the squad, can Leicester afford Lookman. I’ve a feeling that they may not be able to, especially as the rumoured fee is around £15m; a fair amount of money for a depth player.

Currently, his value sits at £8.10m on Transfermarkt, with his contract at Leipzig expiring in 2024. If City could negotiate a fee that resembles this value, then that would be smart buisness. I’m sure there is room for negotiation as Leipzig will be keen to get him salary off of their books. However, the better he performs, the higher the fee that Leipzig will demand.
