Leicester City fans know all about the impending Youri Tielemans transfer, but a few other players have become redundant in their ranks that the club must sell to progress.
Most of the funds required for the rebuilding process will arrive from the sale of Tielemans. But that doesn’t mean the side should hold onto some of the players, whose lack of output has made the squad depth feel virtually unavailable.
These are the five players Leicester City must sell
Ryan Bertrand – When the Foxes opted to snatch an experienced left-back, they expected another fortunate consequence similar to Jonny Evans. But how wrong they were, because what Leicester City received was not the Champions League winner but a mere visage of a player who has lost his mojo. The English wingback managed to stay fit briefly and play for the side only 11 times.
I am absolutely convinced Ryan Bertrand is playing against us every time he sets foot on the pitch. Only logical explanation #LCFC

His time here had been riddled with issues and ailments. While on other times, Brendan Rodgers had not deemed him fit enough for the starting role. With his contract remaining valid for another year, the club should seriously look to offload the 32-year-old for £3-4 million. Dennis Praet – It would be stupid of the club to offer Praet a diminished role upon his return when the plans for his utilization were often limited. The Belgian international now provides nothing extra which could make him an asset.
A loan to Serie A’s Torino has shown that the attacking midfielder can play well within other systems. Thus his return to Serie A for a sustainable future looks like the ideal conclusion for both parties. Even after tough negotiations, the King Power club can expect the buyers to pay around £13 million for the 28-year-old.
Hamza Choudhury – After all this while, Choudhury is yet to find a definitive role in the camp. The youngster has assumed the role of an extra, which the East Midlanders don’t need any longer. With three other CDMs already in their ranks, the fourth one becomes redundant. Last year strong links emerged for a loan spell with Newcastle, but the deal fell halfway through.
The 24-year-old’s market value has plummeted roughly from £9 million to around £4-4.5 million. The club should not wait any longer as the valuation might drop further. Finding a potential suitor for the ‘City Mascherano’ shouldn’t be too difficult.

Jannik Vestergaard – Nothing worked well for the ex-Southampton centre-back here. The addition of the Danish international was a personal recommendation from the manager himself. Though the Blue army had their doubts regarding the move, they at least hoped that the 29-year-old would be able to utilize his height for something. After seeing him participate in 20 games for the Foxes this season, the fans want nothing to do with the defender anymore.
Vestergaard performances have regularly caused the fans to become agitated as much of them made the defender look utterly confounded and commit silly mistakes. His lack of decisiveness has trapped the side in many compromisable positions. The outfit can still expect to land around £10 million if they act quickly to find a side that is interested.
Çağlar Söyüncü – After the initial promises, this season has only been an eye-opener for the Turk. Many of his fragilities became a reality check as the backline was left exposed on far too many occasions. Söyüncü continued to struggle by making erroneous judgments as he did not have an on-field guide.

The 26-year-old’s lack of leadership got hurt because his partners, who complimented him, kept on shuffling. His poor performances eventually demoted him. The Turkish international did not play at all in the last six games of the campaign.
The silver lining in this situation is that the centre-back’s market price has not yet taken a nosedive. Amidst tough negotiations, Leicester City can still afford to sell him for around £35-40 million across Europe.
