Leicester City proved that their win against Nottingham Forest was a false dawn with a dour defeat away to Bournemouth.

Despite going 1-0 up within the first 15 minutes, Leicester did not build on this and looked more content to sit back rather than find the killer second goal. Eventually, a combination of this and some questionable substitutions led to Bournemouth turning the game on its head in the space of five minutes. Leicester City after that were unable to muster any serious reaction, leaving the Foxes 19th and deep in trouble. Here are the player ratings from another miserable performance:

Goalkeeper and defenders

Danny Ward: 5/10- He was not completely at fault for any of the goals, being harsh the first was straight at him but was powerfully struck. Unfortunately, he just looks unconvincing, emphasised by his jump out for the second goal.

Timothy Castagne: 7/10- A reasonably good performance from the right-back who held width effectively and looked dangerous getting in behind. Was taken off to his confusion which contributed to Leicester City’s downfall.

Jonny Evans: 5/10- Not a great performance from the skipper who made his displeasure at his teammates well-known. However, he has to take some of the blame himself with some poor passing and at times giving away sloppy fouls.

Wout Faes: 6/10- Was solid at the back, winning tackles and distributing effectively. Unfortunately, he was at fault for the first goal, getting left behind by Dominic Solanke, although he was put in trouble by his team-mates.

James Justin: 4/10- Shaky at the start, making several passes to put his team in trouble. Struggled one-on-one and his side always looked the most vulnerable going both forwards and backwards.

Midfielders and attackers

Boubakary Soumare: 5/10- Brought in due to injury to both Wilfried Ndidi and Nampalys Mendy and looked assured in the first half with his passing. His defensive work was alright but he does lack awareness which led to some dangerous opportunities.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: 4/10- Not a great showing from the Shepshed-born midfielder who switched off at key moments, which put Wout Faes in trouble for Bournemouth’s first goal.

Youri Tielemans: 5/10- Worked hard but was not able to dictate the play as he usually was. Leicester City need players such as him to step up in tough times like these.

Harvey Barnes: 4/10- Anonymous showing from a dynamic player who really struggled to beat his man consistently. Coupled with a lack of end product, it was a forgettable display.

James Maddison: 5/10- Not able to hit the heights of Monday’s performance and offered little against a stubborn Bournemouth rearguard. He crowned his frustration with a yellow card for a late challenge.

Patson Daka: 7/10- Justified his selection with a well-taken finish, which proved to be a false dawn. He struggled to hold the ball up but his goalscoring form remains one positive in the darkness.

Leicester City substitutes and manager

Jamie Vardy: 5/10- Looks a shadow of his former self and shorn of confidence. Perhaps time is finally catching up with the ageless forward.

Ayoze Perez: 5/10- Thrown on in the hope of salvaging something but did little positive or negative in his short cameo.

Kelechi Iheanacho: 5/10- Offered precious little but probably deserves more playing time.

Daniel Amartey: 5/10- Scapegoated as usual due to him coming on just before LCFC imploded. In reality, it was strange for him to be brought on at right-back since Castagne had done well but he did not solidify the defence which was the aim of his substitution.

Brendan Rodgers: 3/10- Another typical ‘Rodgers performance’ where the Foxes started brightly but did not kill the game off. A couple of strange substitutions and inferior game management led to Leicester City going from a win to a loss in the space of five minutes. Unfortunately, it appears that the Nottingham Forest game was not the turning point we hoped for and once again the cries for Rodgers out are ringing out amongst the LCFC fanbase.
