If you like ugly and effortless performances, this is the game for you. The heartless Leicester City were defeated by Liverpool 3-0 at the King Power. Dean Smith’s side has no more passion. Their heads were hanging low and their effort was somehow lower. We’re watching a team that is prepared for relegation. The Leicester fanbase was booing and it was rightfully deserved.
The Foxes came into this game with a 4-2-3-1 formation. Daniel Iversen continued his run as the starting keeper as Ricardo Pereira and Timothy Castange were the fullbacks. Jonny Evans returned to starting football as he was paired with Wout Faes. Boubakary Soumaré and Wilfred Ndidi were selected as defensive midfielders as James Maddison, Youri Tielemans, and Harvey Barnes were the attacking midfielders. Finally, the Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy was the sole striker.
Jurgen Klopp came into this game with his signature 4-3-3 formation. Alisson was the man between the sticks as their back line consisted of Andrew Robertson, Virgil Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Their midfield consisted of goal-scoring Curtis Jones, Fabinho, and Jordan Henderson. Their front three consisted of the always-scary Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Luis Díaz.
The first half started off nicely for the East Midlands team. Maddison made a stunning pass to Barnes, who passed it to Vardy. Allison would then block his shot. It would all go downhill after that. Faes would miss an easy clearance opportunity which led to Henderson handing it off to Salah. The Egyptian would send a beautiful cross to Jones would slot it in the net. Jones would then grab a beautiful finish for a second goal three minutes later.
The damage would only get worse in the second half. A couple of substitutions were made by Smith which lead to no significant impact. Then a free-kick opportunity came to the Reds in the 70’. With a free-kick opportunity, Salah would tap it to Alexander-Arnold who slotted it to the top right corner. Simply an unreal shot by Trent. Leicester did nothing noteworthy when it comes to attacking in the second half. Simply a shocking performance by this horrendous team.

Leicester City player ratings
Iversen 5: Poor result for the Danish keeper. Not at fault for any one of the goals scored. However, three getting through is never acceptable.
Pereira 5: Bad defending and nothing positive on the attack. The once-amazing Pereira isn’t the player we are seeing anymore.
Castagne 5: I feel like I say this every player rating for Castagne. His marking is poor and he can’t defend in general. Always feels like we’re a man down when he is on the pitch.
Faes 3: Such a rubbish and embarrassing performance. Faes loves to play at his worst when it is against Liverpool. Poor clearances, poor positioning, poor passing. It is such poor, poor, and even poorer when Faes is on the pitch. Horrendous night.
Evans 6: With this being his first start since he got injured, I can’t complain. He was making decent tackles and seemed like the only player who cared on this team. Will be a great leader in the championship.
Ndidi 4: He is so bad! Every game he gets an assist for the other team and it is beyond annoying. He distributed the second goal for Liverpool. No nice way to put it, he’s been horrendous this season.

Soumaré 5: Just like the majority of this midfield, so average and poor today. Contributed nothing positive to the team today. Was just out there getting some exercise.
Tielemans 5: He wants off of this team so bad and he doesn’t try to hide it. Simply doesn’t care when he’s out there. He is just hoping for the game to end. Contributed nothing good to the team today.
Maddison 6: Made some beautiful passes today. Outside of that, nothing good. He realizes he needs to make the key play for us to score. However, he tries too hard. Took too many extra dribbles which lead to him turning the ball over.
Barnes 5: I’ve repeated myself a lot, but that describes how our team played today. Barnes contributed nothing to the team today. He at least made some efforts to get back and help defend. But when we needed him most, he did not show up.
Vardy 5: Had maybe eight touches altogether in this game. Hard to do anything when the midfielders can’t get you the ball and you’re getting double-teamed by the defense. He had our only shot on target so he at least tried today. He just received no help from the his mates.
Substitutes: 5 all around.
