This outlet surveyed 100 Leicester City supporters via Twitter (X) to see which of the bookmakers' favourites they would be content with. And the Foxes fans want this manager.
Foxes poll
The revolving door at King Power Stadium has swung once more, leaving Leicester City in a familiar state of mid-season soul-searching. Following the dismissal of Marti Cifuentes after an uneven run and a dismal season overall, that culminated in a home defeat to Oxford United, the Foxes are hunting for a new leader. Somebody experienced is required to steer LCFC away from a potential relegation scrap due to the looming shadow of a points deduction and poor form.
In the wake of the Catalonian's sacking, a pulse check of the Blue Army reveals a clear sentimental and pragmatic favourite from a group most likely to succeed Cifuentes. A survey of 100 Leicester supporters has seen a solid amount of support for a man who embodies the club’s greatest era: Andy King. The legendary Leicester midfielder (who is coincidentally the only player to win League One, the Championship and the Premier League trophies with the same club) is currently holding the fort as interim manager.
Managerial candidates at Leicester City
For much of the East Midlanders' fan base, King represents more than just a safe pair of hands: he is potentially a unifying figure in a dressing room described by journalists as mutinous of late. Meanwhile the bookies have also slashed odds on former Leicester defender Gary Rowett, Portuguese Vitor Pereira and the possession-heavy Russell Martin. But the support have spoken beneath:
These are the 4️⃣ apparent Leicester candidates with best chance of joining, say the bookies - which gaffer would you be happiest with/least upset with? 😅 #LCFC

The latter seems to have helped the consensus among the faithful arrive at the conclusion that the "King of Leicester" deserves genuine crack at the permanent post. Supporters are weary of tactical experiments, inexperience and defensive nightmares. The King Power faithful are instead calling for the rigidity and the 'Foxes Never Quit' spirit that King embodied during his fourteen-year playing stint to return.
With a crucial fixture against Charlton looming and the board under fire, the hierarchy faces a defining choice. King the job for that fixture. It is worth noting that Pereira was an incredibly close second.
While the ownership will probably opt for the seasoned Championship grit of a candidate like Rowett or gamble on a permanent basis. Yet for the one hundred polled, the emotional intelligence and club DNA offered by King, however, is their selection.
