After a summer that has been full of Jamie Vardy to Arsenal exit rumors, the Leicester City star claims that is was easy to resist the Gunners call.

While many thought that the exit of N’Golo Kante would see the dismantling of Leicester City begin, signatures of star Foxes in the last few weeks continues to buck the trend of believed overachievers having a hard time keeping their talent.

Among those to sign new deals that is perhaps the most important is 24 goal standout striker, Jamie Vardy. The man that was once on the crew that roofed Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard’s house, Jamie Vardy has risen from the lower leagues with Leicester to become a English Premier League Champion.

The 29-year-old signed a new deal with the Foxes earlier this week to remain at the top of their attack on a wage of £100,000-a-week, and with an interview with Sky Sports claimed that he had much left to accomplish with the club:

"“I feel that the club is only going one way and that is forward, that’s why I want to be a part of it.It wasn’t that big [the decision] when I think about it. It was quite easy and this is where I want to be.”"

Jamie Vardy made a major impression on the sporting world with his record breaking goal scoring run of 11 games in the Premier League as well as his all around performance leading the line for the Foxes last season.

While he has passed on a major move this summer, he has created some big shoes for himself to walk in and this season will truly be one of a make or break capacity as he looks to continue the form that saw him break Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s record on his route to a 24 goal title winning campaign in 2015-16.
