Leicester City Transfers: Tottenham looking to make Spur of Danny Drinkwater
Leicester City is facing another London giant’s interest in a key component of title winning side with Totteham on the trail of Danny Drinkwater.
Leicester City have been doing a good job so far of finding a way to keep their core players responsible for helping them achieve the most improbable English Premier League title in history this summer.
Despite the loss of N’Golo Kante to Chelsea, the Foxes have managed to sign Wes Morgan and Jamie Vardy to new contracts and Riyad Mahrez has so far been kept from the temptation of a move to London giants Arsenal.
However, the term, “London calling,” is once again ringing true according to the Leicester Mercury as midfielder Danny Drinkwater whom made 35 league appearances scoring twice for the Foxes last season is rumored to be subject of a £20 million offer from close title contenders Tottenham.
Mauricio Pochettino has already added some midfield strength in the form of his former Southampton charge Victor Wanyama, but England international Drinkwater could be a different cog in the machine with his pure consistency on the ball.
Drinkwater is one of the remaining first team stars that are yet to be known to be in contract talks with the club and the Englishman could test the market to see if it either gets him a new offer on the table from Leicester City or if Tottenham can offer a better deal and a believed better longevity at the top of the table.
Spurs can equally offer Drinkwater UEFA Champions League football this coming season and they can likely better any wage offer that Leicester City can currently put on the table as Pochettino will be looking to hijack any offers known or unknown in progress from the Foxes.
