Danny Drinkwater vs Wayne Rooney

While many would think Wayne Rooney is most likely to be seen terrorizing defenders this weekend, I expect the defense of the Red Devils captain to fall on the shoulders of midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

The former Manchester United youth player tangled with FC Barcelona’s Luis Suarez in Sweden during the two club’s midweek International Champions Cup match and frustrated the former Liverpool forward multiple times.

Drinkwater will be looking to take the same tactics to Wayne Rooney in hopes of disrupting United’s No. 10 and working to prevent any link up play between him and new forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
