Leicester City: Craig Shakespeare joins England staff

Leicester City’s assistant manager Craig Shakespeare has joined Sam Allardyce’s England backroom staff saying that it is a ‘huge honour’.
Going forward Craig Shakespeare will be carrying on his duties as Claudio Ranieri’s number one man as well as being head-coach of the England team under new manager Sam Allardyce.

Alllardyce is putting together his backroom staff after being appointed the position of England manager after his predecessor Roy Hodgson failed to impress during the Euro 2016 tournament, being knocked out in a shock turn of events which saw England lose to Iceland 2 – 1 in the Round of 16.
Much like Gary Neville when he was Roy Hodgson’s head coach, where he saw our his National Team duties along with managing Valencia in Spain, Craig Shakespeare will be combining his Leicester City role with his England position.
52 year old Shakespeare signed a contract this summer with Leicester City and his role amongst Claudio Ranieri’s side will remain unchanged.
Speaking to the media, Shakespeare said:
"“This is a huge honour for me, Anyone involved in football knows that representing your country is something special and this caps off a brilliant year."
"“Leicester have been really good to me and I am sure the international experience I get from being alongside Sam and Sammy (Lee, assistant manager) will add to my work at the club.”"
Also Speaking to the media, Sam Allardyce had a few words to say about Leicester City’s assistant manager:
"“Craig will be a tremendous asset to England, and I am grateful to Leicester for their help in making this happen.”"
