Shinji Okazaki – Japan 1 – 2 UAE

Our first kick off of the week saw Leicester City forward Shinji Okazaki face UAE to kick off their World Cup Qualifying campaign.

More from Analysis

You’d expect Japan to easily win the game however they fell short after Shinji hit the crossbar after coming close with a headed effort, the score remained 2 – 1 at the final whistle.

Both Japan and Okazaki will be very disappointed with the result and as such, I’m sure Shinji will work even harder than he usually does in order to put this result behind him and move forward.

Japan travel to Thailand next on the 6th of September and will be looking for a huge improvement on this result.
