Leicester City traveled to London to face Tottenham on Saturday in search of their first away result of the campaign.

And get a result is just what they did. It wasn’t always pretty but Leicester managed to scrap out a point in an end to end affair that somehow only saw two goals.

“It is a very big result again this season because we need at this moment to get confidence.”

A strong first half for Leicester was unfortunate to see them give up a penalty to Vincent Janssen close to the whistle.

Ahmed Musa was able to make amends and draw the Foxes level shortly into the first half but for the rest of the match it was both sides trying to break the dead lock.

Following the match, Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri spoke to the media discussing his belief that this could be one of the most important points of the season:

"“It is a very big result again this season because we need at this moment to get confidence.Today was a fantastic performance.I am very pleased with our spirit. So far we show an individual spirit. Today I saw the old spirit, the team spirit that we had last season.”"

Ranieri was most impressed with the fact that despite all the frustrating results on the road so far this season, his side responded when it mattered and tried their best to win the match:

"“It is good because during this week I told my players I saw our spirit. Now I look forward and you have to show on the pitch. It is only words. You have to show what I saw in the training session. The answer was fantastic. We started well from the beginning. In the bad moment were all together. We tried to win and Spurs tried to win.”"

However, Ranieri was not so impressed with the penalty decision that saw Janssen have the chance to put Spurs up from the spot:

"“My opinion, when they took the free kick there was a foul on Huth, more strong than Huth made to Janssen. When you watch the replays, you tell me if it is the same. Janssen is very strong and in that moment he went down. But it is okay. It doesn’t matter. I said to the players don’t use it as an excuse. Keep going you are doing well, and we scored.”"

Following today’s positive result, Ranieri and the Foxes turn their immidiate attention to a trip to Denmark’s capital and another date with FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.

A victory for Leicester means they will be guaranteed a place in the European elite’s knockout round of 16 and gives them a two game cushion to allow them more time to focus on the Premier League fixtures for the next month and a half.
