Leicester City winger Jeff Schlupp has called out UK newspaper The Sun for making up quotes regarding the Lamborghini he crashed earlier in the week.

Jeff Schlupp, Leicester City’s winger who rose from the foxes academy as a youngster after being with the club for over a decade crashed his black Lamborghini on the M1 during torrential rain on Monday.

The Sun have “Quoted” other motorists that saw the crash as saying:

More from Foxes of Leicester

"“It was raining like hell and the road was very slippy.”"

"“He was very lucky to have not been badly hurt or even killed. You could see the dent in the car is where his head would’ve been. Anyone taller I think would have copped it.”"

Whether you chose to believe what The Sun are printing is under your discretion however following previous instances of the newspaper making false claims and pulling quotes out of thin air, I’d take their pieces with a pinch of salt.

The Sun not only interviewed motorists that saw the crash, they even spoke to a select few who overheard the 23 year old winger speaking to the police.

How convinient.

The Sun went on to publish the following “Quotes”

"It was a bad crash but I heard him chatting and he seemed quite cool and unfazed about the whole thing.”"

"“It was just the clean-up crew who were there from the Highways Agency after the police and ambulance who were called out had gone.”"

"“Jeff said to them, ‘I ain’t bothered. Just get the car recovered. Oh well, I’ve got three other cars to choose from.’”"

The Ghanaian international caught wind of The Sun’s claims and quickly tweeted to fans to spread awareness that he did not in fact say what they claimed.

Schlupp made an appearance on Wednesday night during Leicester City’s 2 – 1 win in the Champions League over Club Brugge.

This is his second appearance in a row after he played against West Brom.
