Leicester City showed they still have what it takes to knuckle down and fight back for a result as they rescued a point against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The Foxes were forced to come from behind all night at the King Power Stadium as Middlesbrough forward Alvaro Negredo ended his Premier League goal drought thanks to an assist from Gaston Ramirez in the 13th minute.

For the third straight match, Riyad Mahrez was called upon to take a spot kick just around the half hour mark, this time thanks to on-loan Arsenal defender Calum Chambers as the young former Southampton man was called for a hand ball inside the 18-yard box.

The Algerian stepped up and put the spot kick away to bring the two sides level once more with just over ten minutes to get to the break.

More from Foxes of Leicester

The second half continued on with the two sides level and after their midweek exersions, Mahrez and Jamie Vardy were both withdrawn with just over 20 minutes to play as Islam Slimani and Ahmed Musa came into the fray.

However, it would be Boro that would once again break the deadlock as Negredo was adamant about getting more for his money as he doubled up his haul with a second goal in the 72nd minute thanks to an assist from Adam Forshaw.

A goal down at home yet again, just like they had been against West Brom in their last home match, the Leicester fans hoped to see their club battle back and fight and fight they did.

In the dying moments from the match, Islam Slimani smashed home a second spot kick for the Foxes on the night and rescued a point for the hosts and it is a moment that many will hope continues to show that the defending Champions have a lot more heart and fight before the end of the season.
