This summer Leicester City were able to hold onto almost all of their important pieces from their Championship run last season.

However, despite their fight to keep players like Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy being successful, Leicester City were not able to hold onto start midfielder N’Golo Kante thanks to a massive bid from Chelsea and now Danny Drinkwater looks another transfer target of the Premier League elite.

Now it looks like the Foxes once again are set to be subject to a major money raid for one of their key midfielders as Manchester United look keen to launch a bid for their former youth star Danny Drinkwater.

The 26-year-old has had an impressively start to the season, proving that his form last year was no fluke and despite losing his best midfield partner in Kante, he has remained the key to the club’s midfield.

United were rumored to be interested in bringing Drinkwater back earlier in the season, but with January’s transfer window just around the corner it is believed that the former United man could be swayed to make a move to a side that has a more impressive pedigree.

According to reports from Metro, Jose Mourinho is keen on making Drinkwater’s return to Old Trafford a reality with a bid in the range of £30 million said to be on the table.

Leicester are unlikely to budge in January due to their UEFA Champions League knockout stage qualification, but a major move for Drinkwater in January could help to unsettle him before next summer.

Baring a massive run of form to get Leicester back into the top five and a place in Europe next season, the midfielder is likely to want to move to a club where he can look to achieve his full potential.
