Leicester City continue their downward spiral this season as another opportunity to earn points on the road slipped through their title defense.

Another weekend away match for Leicester City and another disappointment as the Foxes found a way to drop all three points at the Stadium of Light despite an impressive opening to the match for the visitors.

Following their defeat the Foxes are only two points outside of the drop zone languishing in 15th place and are now officially the worst Premier League champions in history.

An own goal from Robert Huth gifted the hosts the lead before a goal from Jermain Defoe put the Black Cats up 2-0 before Shinji Okazaki finally got the Foxes on the score sheet with ten minutes to go.

However, it would not be enough to start a fight back as once more it was too little too late for the visitors whom are yet to lead a match away from home all season in the Premier League.

More from Foxes of Leicester

Following the match, Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri was clearly frustrated with another defeat in the their title defense as his side now have only 13 points from 14 matches this season:

"“It’s difficult. We miss everything.Everything last season was right, starting with luck; this season, everything is wrong. But we must continue to work hard and maintain the right balance in ourselves, believe in ourselves. The battle is long, but that’s football, sport.”"

This is not the start to December that the Foxes wanted as their performances in the UEFA Champions League has offered them a match less to worry about this month having already advanced to the round of 16.

Now the remaining five matches in December are ever more important as the Foxes now well and truly have to be worried about being drug into another relegation battle in just three seasons.
