As described by Leicester City’s official Twitter account, “Best. Nil-nil. Ever”. City seemed destined for relegation after winning just four league games out of 29, needing more than a miracle to ensure Premier League safety. The Foxes would then go on to win seven of their remaining nine games, but the one that stands out is the goalless draw against Sunderland, the impact of which was to last long.

The destroyer-in-chief Nigel Pearson was sacked soon thereafter, giving way to Claudio Ranieiri. No one knew what was to come.
