Leicester City have agreed a deal in principle to sign Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho for £25 million, according to Sky Sources.

It is believed that the two sides are yet to address the contractual issues, one of them being the option for a buy-back clause in Iheanacho’s Leicester contract that’ll include a fixed fee.

Another issue believed to be standing in the way is the Manchester City striker’s image rights, which haven’t been resolved thus far. However, with the Blue Moon very much interested to make the transfer happen, the formalities should all be finished within the coming days.

The 20-year old has been one of Craig Shakespeare’s top priorities this summer as his side look to add more youth to their attacking setup. He has found the net 21 times in 64 appearances (also assisted eight goals) for Manchester City across all competitions, having mostly played the role of an impact sub during his stay at the Etihad Stadium.

Iheanacho’s signing would undoubtedly go down as Leicester City’s best coup this summer, unless, of course, they somehow manage to buy Gylfi Sigurdsson for what would be a club record £40 million.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the Swansea City playmaker, and it’s Everton who are leading the way in his chase. There have been a lot of reports suggesting that a deal has already been agreed for the 27-year old, though there’s nothing official as of now.
