West Ham United are ready to move for Leicester City’s Islam Slimani, according to Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones.

The Algerian was bought for a club record £29 million last summer, scoring nine goals as well as assisting five across all competitions last season. As is obvious from the numbers, though, Slimani failed to make the impact that he was expected to, and now he could be sold.

City are currently negotiating a deal for Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, with a buy-back clause being one of the issues left to be resolved.

However, as Manchester City are pretty much interested to sell, the £25 million deal should be completed in the coming days. It is understood that West Ham would only submit an offer after the Foxes have got their man.

Kelechi Iheanacho has also been left out of Pep Guardiola’s squad for the International Champions Cup in USA, further suggesting that he is an inch closer to being a Leicester player.

City are also pursuing Hull City’s Eldin Jakupovic and Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson. While the Hull goalkeeper is only a few formalities away from being Craig Shakespeare’s third major addition this transfer window, Sigurdsson’s is a more complicated case.

Everton are believed to have offered £30 million for the Iceland international, though there are multiple reports now claiming that Leicester City are willing to pay higher wages to Sigurdsson – £125,000 a week to be particular. Shall Leicester manage to pull this off, it may well be one of the signings of the summer.
