Foxes in the market: Arsenal midfielder reportedly rejects Leicester City
Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny has reportedly rejected Leicester City after the Foxes had a £10 million offer accepted – that’s according to The Sun.
The Egypt International is currently happy where he is and loves life in London, which is believed to have been the chief reason behind his decision despite strong interest as well as a decent offer to match it.
Since his move from FC Basel, where he was one of the key players of his team, Elneny has struggled for playing time under Arsene Wenger.
The 25-year old quickly became one of the Frenchman’s first-choice players when signed in January 2016, however, the next season saw him drop down the pecking order. Elneny made only 24 appearances across all competitions last season, making a mere 12 starts.

As per Sun Sport, Arsenal are willing to sell the midfielder, having already accepted Leicester’s offer as stated earlier.
The Gunners have a number of options to deploy in the middle of the park, namely Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin, and Wenger doesn’t feel like he needs Elneny anymore.
For the moment, the Arsenal midfielder has rejected Leicester City, but they are expected to come back in January for him, when Mohamed Elneny may just be tempted by the role the Foxes can offer him if his time at Arsenal continues as it is.
It wasn’t all disappointing for Leicester City, though, as earlier today, Leicester City also announced the signing of Hull City goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee, making him their third major signing of the summer.
Speaking exclusively to LCFC TV, he said:
"Jakupović told LCFC TV: “I’m very happy and excited that the deal is finally done. I’m very excited to be a part of something special here and I can’t wait for the first game.“I knew from the beginning that it will be difficult for myself because Kasper [Schmeichel] is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.“I’m going to fight and I’m here to push. A healthy competition is always good and that’s only a positive thing. For sure, I’ll wait for my chance but I am here and I’m very excited.”"
Leicester City are also said to be pursuing other targets, with Gylfi Sigurdsson still on Craig Shakespeare’s radar.
