Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare has confirmed that he wants two more signings before he can consider the transfer window shut.

City have had an extremely busy summer so far, with there being arrivals as well as departures. As Shakespeare aims to bring Leicester City into contention for the UEFA Champions League spots, he has been giving the team the kind of make up that he wants, having signed three top-quality players already: Hull City’s Harry Maguire and Eldin Jakupovic, and Sevilla’s Vicente Iborra.

The Foxes have also had a £25 million bid accepted for Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho; however, Shakespeare has refused to comment on that. Generally, when that’s the case, it’s more likely to be a done deal.

When told about Pep Guardiola’s confirmation of Iheanacho’s departure, he said:

"“He didn’t say which club it was, so no comment”."

The 2015/16 Premier League champions are also in need of a centre-back, now that Robert Huth has been ruled out for two months after undergoing a minor ankle surgery. While Craig Shakespeare didn’t necessarily state that he’d be turning his attention to a defender, he did, however, confirm that there will be at least two more signings.

"“Areas I won’t talk about but in terms of additions we would like another couple of players”."

The number of players that Leicester City have found themselves linked with, it’s very difficult to tell who’ll actually be wearing their colours when they face Arsenal at The Emirates Stadium in the Premier League’s first ever opening fixture on a Friday night.

In addition, City also have Riyad Mahrez’s future to resolve, whose desire to leave is no secret. The Algerian has had a formal approach from AS Roma, but their £21 million offer was kindly rejected by the club.
