Leicester City have signed Paris Saint-Germain striker Alassane Meite, according to multiple reports in France.

The Frenchman recently featured for Leicester City (on trial) at the Generali Cee Cup in Prague, Czech Republic. It’s a competition for the U-19 sides across Europe, and it also included Burnley and Everton.

The 17-year old has been understood to have impressed the staff despite the team only finishing second in their group and has already been snapped up.

While it remains highly unlikely that he’ll be playing for Craig Shakespeare’s side for a very long time, Meite could eventually prove to be an excellent addition, judging by the number of world-class French forwards that have recently rose to prominence – Antoine Griezmann, Alexandre Lacazette, Moussa Dembele, Ousmane Dembele, Thomas Lemar and Kylian Mbappe to name a few.

Elsewhere, the Foxes have also been linked to Sporting Lisbon’s Adrien Silva. The 28-year old is also a target for West Bromwich Albion and Inter Milan, with the former reported to have had a bid worth €26 million turned down.

City, however, are ready to pay only €22 million as opposed to the Portuguese side’s €30 million demand, meaning that they could miss out on him, if interested at all.

Leicester City won’t definitely miss out on Kelechi Iheanacho, though, as the 20-year old looks set to complete his move to the King Power Stadium this week.

City had agreed a deal in principle about a couple of weeks, but the issues concerning his image rights weren’t resolved at the time.
