Leicester City succumbed to their second defeat of the summer as they were well beaten at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers, albeit by a tiny 1-0 margin.

Unlike the previous fixture against MK Dons, Craig Shakespeare had named a strong XI, with Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy both starting for the Foxes. However, the inability to contain a well-drilled Wolves side cost them heavily, as did the failure to make the most of their limited chances.

Here are the major talking points from a disappointing outing at the Molineux Stadium:

Leicester City must wake up

It may only be a pre-season friendly, but having seen Leicester City against Wolverhampton Wanderers, it’s evident that they aren’t at the level they would want to be at.

Having fielded their best possible XI, one would have expected more from Shakey’s Leicester, but it was quite the opposite as they fired a blank in a game they were expected to score goals in.

Credit where it’s due, Wolverhampton were simply the better side and City had no answer.
