Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has said that his side have a lot of things to improve and that he expects them to be much better than they are currently.

The Foxes put on a pretty average show against Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers as they were beaten 1-0 despite fielding one of their strongest XI.

While the scoreline may be a narrow one, it doesn’t reflect how below par Leicester City were right from the time the whistle was blown.

Not only did Craig Shakespeare’s side struggle to create chances, but they also had a hard time restricting the Wolves’ energetic front three.

However, Wilfred Ndidi believes that’ll change soon, and change in time for them to be ready for the season-opener against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking to LCFC TV, he said:

"“We are quite sad because although it is just pre-season, we have to look at our mistakes. It will only get better. (The summer has) been great, we’re training hard.“We’ll look at our mistakes and continue to prepare for this coming season.“We just need to keep working and focus.“So many things (need to improve), because as the pre-season is going, the fitness levels and the energy need to be on the right track.“Everybody needs to be at their best. It’s been okay, the fitness level is coming up. We hope before the start of the season everything will be okay.“We’ve been doing cool, everybody is doing great, there’s just some little mistakes.”"

Wilfred Ndidi also sees a scope to improve himself as he prepares to win over Craig Shakespeare’s faith for the upcoming Premier League season.

The Nigerian arrived for £15 million from Genk last winter, forming a crucial part of the Foxes’ midfield. However, with Vicente Iborra, Matty James, Andy King and Daniel Amartey all competing for that one spot alongside Danny Drinkwater, it could be tough for him to fit into the team.

"“I have so many things to improve because as time goes we keep learning,” added Ndidi. “We see different things and try to adapt and do our best.“(The partnership with Drinkwater) is coming on.“I will say that it’s a collective team effort. Everybody needs to do his best in his position.”"

With two games against Burton Albion and Borussia Monchengladbach still left to be played, Shakespeare would be hoping to have some nerves settled ahead of the start of the Premier League season.

The Leicester City manager would also look to have Kelechi Iheanacho on board, whose transfer has been delayed due to the issues relating his image rights.
