The Premier League is less than two weeks away, and Leicester City are still not sure what do they do, even if they are aware of what do they want to do.

The pre-season festivities got underway in the most pleasing manner – a penalty shootout win against Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion – but thereafter, everything and everyone has only gone downhill. Was Islam Slimani’s header against Liverpool a bad omen? Craig Shakespeare won’t like to think so.

Leicester City only have one game to go against Borussia Monchengladbach before they take on one of the Premier League’s gigantic, ginormic sides, Arsenal, in what’s supposed to be a nervy season-opener for both the sides for differing reasons.

Of course, City won’t have to take the heavy burden of expectations that the Gunners would, but there will be the the Foxes faithful’s sanguinity, which is enough. The problem here, however, isn’t the pressure of starting well, it’s the biting presence of Leicester’s own shortcomings.

If the performances during the course of the pre-season are anything to go by, then Leicester City’s has been a comprehensive failure at addressing the familiar problems that ruined the post-title glory proceedings – and that could happen yet again.

We pick the three most familiar shortcomings that could haunt Leicester City, come the Premier League 2017/18.
