Aged defence shipping goals

Wes Morgan, Danny Simpson, Christian Fuchs and Robert Huth are all over 30, and as far as the Premier League is concerned, to have those many ageing defenders in your side is suicidal.

There may be the odd game when they are at the peak of their powers, but when they aren’t, Leicester are more likely to bleed goals. Could Shakespeare have bought another centre-back? Yes; could he have prepared Ben Chilwell and Daniel Amartey-like emerging players by giving them some more playing time in games that actually matter? Yes.

There’s still time to go before the transfer window closes, though, and the market can be dug deep into.
