Leicester City’s most famous wantaway star Riyad Mahrez has dropped a somewhat major hint over his future at the King Power Stadium.

The Algerian has for long been looking for a way out of the East Midlands but has so far failed at any attempt, thanks largely to Leicester City’s stubborn approach to his transfer dealing with AS Roma.

The Serie A club have twice had an offer rejected for the 26-year old, one being £20 million and the other being £27 million. Both the bids were convincingly short of the Foxes’ demand, which is understood to be in excess of £40 million.

Such antics haven’t pleased Riyad Mahrez at all, who would, mirabile dictu, be lamenting the excellent displays that he put for Leicester City to value him so highly today.

The 2016 Player of the Year hasn’t held himself back in expressing his thoughts, as he took to social media to do something that wouldn’t be least pleasing for Leicester City.

Mahrez changed the profile picture on his Facebook page from one wherein he donned the Leicester jersey to one where he only has his Nike vestitures on. Make of it what you will.

The Leicester City forward didn’t go round the houses when asked about his future either, saying that AS Roma are a great club while also adding that he’d like to talk to the Italian giants.

"“I know Roma came in, but nothing was accepted so there is little I can do. They are a great club who I would like to talk to but I can’t until Leicester accept a deal,” he said.“Leicester know my thoughts, but I will continue to give my best for the club as I always have.“Clearly, it is flattering whenever you get linked with any big clubs, but as it stands, I have not talked to anyone as nobody has had a bid accepted but we nearly have a month left of the transfer window so we will see what happens.”"

Deep down, there’s a fear that Riyad Mahrez may have contrived to shoot himself in the foot. You don’t get away too easily if you violate the Shakespearean code of conduct.
