Hull City boss hints at loan move for Leicester City striker
Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky has hinted at a loan move for Leicester City’s Ahmed Musa.
The former Russia boss previously worked with Musa during his four-year tenure at CSKA Moscow and is confident of a successful reunion with the Nigerian.
Ahmed Musa is the latest to find himself surrounded by speculation, having failed to nail down his spot in Craig Shakespeare’s first choice XI.
He was signed by Claudio Ranieri last summer, arriving for a considerable €19.5 million as the Italian looked to strengthen his attack. However, Musa turned out to be a huge disappointment as he only netted four times in 32 appearances across all competitions for Leicester City.
Shakespeare may well look to put the 24-year old out of his agony, though that may well be temporary with Hull City only considering a loan move. Speaking to the Hull City Daily Mail, Leonid Slutsky told:
"“We have some loan options and maybe at the end of the transfer window getting players from the Premier League is possible.“We are waiting for the decision of big clubs on some players.“He is not our player but, of course, every coach is better working with players he knows and I worked with Musa for four years. I know him and he knows me, it is normal.“His position is not the only important one though in this situation.”"
Ahmed Musa isn’t the only guy who could be on his way out of the King Power Stadium, with Demarai Gray, Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani all expected to depart before the transfer window closes.
While most of the Leicester City fans would love to see the back of Slimani and Musa, Mahrez and Gray’s exit won’t please anyone. However, there does remain a possibility that they could all stay, shall Craig Shakespeare continue to be the stubborn man that he has been when it comes to business.
The 53-year old has already beaten AS Roma to keep hold of his star man Mahrez, and that may well continue if he wants it that way.
