Leicester City are up and running for the season as they beat Brighton and Hove Albion by a convincing 2-0 at the King Power Stadium, thanks to a goal each from Shinji Okazaki and Harry Maguire. Here’s what we learned from the Foxes’ first-class display:

Shinji Okazaki set for his best season yet?

Shinji Okazaki bagged his second goal of the season in as many matches, doing what Riyad Mahrez’s luscious jiggery-pokery couldn’t to find the back of the net inside the first minute. For a player who has got 12 goals across two seasons, his tally so far seems a touch prolific by his own standards.

However, goals aren’t necessarily what he’s there for – he’s a second striker-cum-workhorse, and he did justice to that role throughout the 75 minutes that he lasted for on the pitch. Anyone who still doubts him?
