Adrien Silva has returned to Portugal after Leicester City formally appealed FIFA’s decision to block the midfielder’s move.

Although a Leicester player, Silva can’t feature for the side following a blunder on the Foxes’ part as they missed the official deadline for the documentation by 14 seconds. The club’s lawyers have since been working to try and get a decision in their favour.

The East Midlanders have officially appealed the decision lately but are yet to know whether the 28-year old can play for Leicester City anytime soon.

Adrien Silva is also an expecting father and has headed back home to care of matters “for the time being”. Speaking of the former Sporting Lisbon player, Craig Shakespeare said:

"“He has gone back to Portugal for the time being. He is an expecting father so he spent a bit of time with his family at the weekend. Then we will see what the process brings from now on.“The conversations I’ve had with him so far are very brief but of course in the back of his mind the World Cup will be a concern. But I think he is more interested in finding the right solution for here and now.”"

Among the other worries for Leicester City is Demarai Gray, whose new deal is yet to be sorted amidst speculation that he is growing increasingly frustrated. Shakespeare, however, is confident about his young star.

"“It’s in the final instalments,” he said. “His advisors are talking with our director of football. I’m expecting that to be completed sooner rather than later.”"

City are also waiting to see if Jamie Vardy can return in time for his side’s huge game against Liverpool this weekend. The 30-year old is set to miss the Carabao Cup clash against the Reds on Tuesday.

"“Jamie hasn’t trained, we’ll give him every opportunity. He has a tight groin and he has had continuous treatment since. He won’t be one to risk so we’ll assess it on Tuesday.”"

Matty James (Achilles), Christian Fuchs (eye injury) and Robert Huth (ankle injury) are also sidelined, giving Craig Shakespeare yet more headache in what is an already troubled phase for the club.

"“Christian is more on specialist advice but he trained today with the team,” added Shakespeare.“We’re also without Robert Huth, we are really managing him at the moment. He is well ahead of schedule after the operation and had a good start. We’re taking it carefully.”"

Nothing really seems to be going well for Leicester City at the moment. They have a failed transfer to deal with, the injuries and the poor form to go with it.

It doesn’t rain for the Foxes, it pours.
