The current mood at Leicester City is that of doom and gloom, and at a time as this visit Liverpool for the Carabao Cup encounter at the King Power Stadium. It can’t get any worse for the Foxes, can it?

Kick-off time: 7.45 p.m.

Which TV channel is it on: Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event. Alternatively, you can stream it on Sky Go.

Leicester City

What could possibly go wrong for Leicester City? How bad could it get? Another injury? A hammering at the hands of Liverpool? Two drubbings at the hands of the same side in a week? Well, all scenarios are quite possible, which is a damning indictment of where Craig Shakespeare’s side currently stands.

The Carabao Cup may not be as important as the Premier League is, but it does offer Leicester a chance to produce a good mid-week performance and lift their spirits. Liverpool are a defensively naive unit, and with the right tactics, a win is possible. The question is: Do the Foxes have enough in them to do what is required? We shall see.

Team News

Jamie Vardy, Christian Fuchs, Matty James and Robert Huth are all out injured, while the development squad’s Josh Knight and Hamza Choudhury are expected to start.

Liverpool

Liverpool’s campaign so far has been no less than a rollercoaster ride. One week, they blew Arsenal away by a flabbergasting 4-0 at Anfield, but they haven’t won since, being trounced 5-0 by Manchester City, drawing 2-2 against Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League and only managing a 1-1 stalemate against Burnley thereafter.

While the Reds’ frontmen have been doing a pretty good job, the defence has been a major problem, as was expected from the start. Jurgen Klopp’s side probably have the worst back line among the title contenders, and if they are not careful enough at the King Power Stadium, it could get ugly again.
