Leicester City had a night to remember at last, as they beat Liverpool 2-0 to progress to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. Here’s what we learned from their win at the King Power Stadium:

There’s life in Islam Slimani’s Leicester City career yet

Islam Slimani just loves scoring in the Carabao Cup and he demonstrated that yet again, netting his third of the competition in two appearances. The Algerian’s goal means that he is now the Foxes’ second-highest goalscorer behind Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki, who have four goals each this season.

We are all aware of Slimani’s unique attributes, though he just hasn’t been able to make the most of them with Leicester so far; however, now that the 29-year old has got his campaign off to a fine start, he can look to take his form to the league as well, as that’s where it matters the most.
