AFC Bournemouth game a must-win, says Danny Simpson
Leicester City have no option but to beat AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, says Danny Simpson.
City have made their joint worst start to a Premier League season, winning only on one occasion in six attempts, while they have four defeats and a draw in that time.
The losses aren’t that much of a reflection of their performances, though, as the Foxes have done much better than what the numbers might suggest.
Talking ahead of the game, Danny Simpson had a somewhat similar opinion, saying that if his side carry on performing the same way, the three points will probably be theirs against the smaller sides. He told:
"“If we perform like we have done against these top teams, we have to go there and win,” he said. “We have to. It is as simple as that.“We have to start picking up points and wins away from home because we know how good we are at home. Away from home was one of our problems last season.“Although we haven’t got the best of records against Bournemouth, we have to put that right.“Away from home we weren’t at our best at Huddersfield and got a point and Arsenal away, we were 3-2 up with seven minutes to go.“We will take positives from how we have played against these top teams who have all spent loads of money."
AFC Bournemouth have struggled this season too, managing a single win and five defeats in their six games. Simpson believes that’s something that’ll help his team out.
"“We will go to Bournemouth who are having an indifferent times themselves, so the pressure is going to be on them if anything. They are at home.“We will go there and if we leave everything on the pitch like we have done (against Liverpool) we will get the three points.”"
It’s going to be interesting to see as to what tactics do Leicester City com into the game with on Saturday. There are a few ways of approaching a game, though Leicester City’s has always been that of a side that likes to play, so there won’t be any shyness on their part – that’s for sure.
AFC Bournemouth are a free-flowing team themselves, and they won’t be holding back either, especially with the defensive fragilities that we know Leicester have. They’ve got a really good unit, which, when going well, can upset any team in the league, let alone Craig Shakespeare’s side.

As Danny Simpson said, it really is a game that the East Midlanders have to win. Previously, they’ve had the excuse of being undone by the sheer quality of the rivals, but now that the fixtures have eased up, they won’t anywhere to hide.
