Foxes in the market: Leicester City monitoring Bacary Sagna?
Leicester City are reportedly monitoring former Arsenal and Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna, as reported by Transfer Market Web.
The 34-year old is currently a free agent after being released by Manchester City during the summer, making him an absolute steal for any team that signs him up.
Among the other clubs looking to add him to their ranks are Serie A’s Torino, though it’s unlikely that the Frenchman would want to take up the Italian challenge at a time when he’s nearing the end of his career.
Sagna has spent a majority of his career in the Premier League, playing seven seasons with Arsenal and three with Manchester City thereafter (a total of 267 appearances), winning the FA Cup and a League Cup during this time. Safe to say, an experienced campaigner like him would be a decent back-up for Danny Simpson for Leicester City, who have hardly got an option at the right-back position.
The FIFA World Cup 2018 approaching as well, Bacary Sagna would have a major reason to be back in the Premier League. There being a lot of time to go before Didier Deschamps picks his France squad for Russia, Sagna can give himself another chance to at least be in the mix, and a move to Leicester City could prove to be a step in the right direction for both the parties.
Judging by his time in England’s top division, the French international would be a really good signing for Leicester City. Not only does he have the experience but the quality to go with it too, making him the perfect fit in every description.
