Leicester City set to miss out on Bacary Sagna

Ex-Manchester City right-back and free agent Bacary Sagna has implied that move to Italy suits him.

Both Inter and A.C. Milan are purportedly close to capturing Bacary Sagna’s signature, according to the Leicester Mercury.

Leicester City themselves need quality competition for Danny Simpson at right-back, not only if they are going to continue with the 4-4-2 formation, but also for their counter-attacking tactics.

Bacary Sagna Speaks

Leicester City transfer target, Sagna, who left Manchester City this summer spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport, indicating his intentions:

"“I will definitely watch the Milan derby.“Italian football has always fascinated me.“These are the games you always want to play. I expect a high level and a draw.”"

In addition, the French Euro 2016 semifinalist continued:

"“Yes, I’m ready. I follow Serie A, there are other big teams like Napoli, Roma, Milan and Juve.“It’s a competitive championship.”"

"“I had the opportunity to sign up with several clubs in Turkey and England. plus interest in Portugal, France and Italy,” claims the veteran."

"“But I love to compete at the highest levels, I know my value. To get back to the pitch I’m looking for an ambitious team."

Besides, the defender also insisted that “It’s not a question of money.”

An Italian Destination

In addition, Manchester Evening News reported that Italian club Torino are also interested in signing Bacary Sagna, who has been capped sixty-five times by France.

Furthermore, being an ex-Man City player, his wage demands may be an issue for the East Midlands club.

Equally importantly, Leicester don’t tend to give unnecessarily lucrative contracts haphazardly. Although the LCFC Owners are known to be ruthless and decisive if a manager isn’t performing to their standard.

Bacary Sagna – Leicester City Target

Now that Leicester are going to appoint a new manager, maybe they should consider a new recruitment team and a fresh Director of football too. Not only that but whether or not they need a DoF at all.
