Sam Allardyce

Career honours: 4

The man who could prevent Neymar Jr. from going down, Sam Allardyce was born to do a job, which is to ensure Premier League safety. The Englishman has never been relegated as the manager of a Premier League club, and bearing in mind that he has managed Bolton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United, it’s an unbelievable track record.

Considering that Leicester City’s immediate need is to avoid being relegated, Allardyce fits the bill. Well, he fits anyway because irrespective of what anyone says about him, he is an excellent manager – resourceful in the word’s truest sense, tactically sound and experienced.

However, Leicester might find it difficult to lure him to the King Power Stadium after the former England boss ruled himself out of a return to the Premier League despite admitting that he’d love to manage the 2015/16 champions. He said:

"“As big a club and as much as I would love to manage Leicester I don’t think it is time for me to manage yet. “I am not ready I don’t think. “Having been in the game so long and done it so long, and looking at how I felt at the end of last season, I feel I am enjoying my life too much. “Yes, it would have interested me and yes, I would take the Leicester job, but not at this time. “I think they are a fantastic club and winning the Premier League is it landing heavily on the managers that take over there now? They won the Premier League. How did they do that? When will it ever happen again? Probably never! “It was such a great year and it is a shame a lot of those players are still there and not living up to that reputation they built for themselves.”"
