Claude Puel believes Leicester City can do something despite a shocking start, insisting that he has seen enough from the Foxes to be confident.

Leicester City’s first away win of the season against Swansea City (2-1) last week has lifted them all the way up from relegation zone, though only a point separates 18th placed Everton and 14th placed Leicester.

The two teams meet on Sunday at the King Power Stadium in what could prove to be a huge game for both the sides. Whereas a win would undoubtedly be a huge boost for either side, a defeat would be equally as damaging, meaning that it may well be a hard-fought game.

The fixture list only set to get tougher with trips to Stoke City and West Ham United, and a home game against table toppers Manchester City, Claude Puel knows that it’s going to be a truly challenging task for him to completely steady the ship at the King Power Stadium.

Speaking to Leicester City’s official website, the Frenchman did admit that it’s not the most ideal situation, but he’s confident that his side can do something. He said:

"“It is not ideal to come in at this point but I have seen five Leicester games this season and believe we can do something.“They won the title two years ago, played in the Champions League last season, now we are in a little difficulty and we need to find some consistency."

Claude Puel is in no mood to make wholesale changes to the current team. For him, it’s about finding the right balance for now, and once that’s done, he can look forward to building for the future.

"“I am not here to change everything at the beginning. Just now it is to find a good balance and give confidence to the players. That is the most important thing.“After that, we can build something for the future. It is important to give the opportunities to improve together, build an identity and find again the ambitions for the club. This is an exciting challenge for me and an opportunity to do good work.”"

The new Foxes boss also received some appreciation from Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger, who coached him as a player during his time at AS Monaco. Wenger said:

"“Claude is competent, he’s a worker and is highly focused.“I’m sure that he will continue and develop at Leicester. They made a good appointment.”"
