Is Claude Puel a good fit for Leicester City?
Could he apply his tactics at Leicester City?
Claude Puel started the season at Southampton using a diamond shape but quickly switched to one that resembled a 4-3-3 that allowed Puel to play a slow, possession-based system.
Oriol Romeu sat deep with James Ward-Prowse alongside him, while Steven Davis pushed further forward as Nathan Redmond and Dusan Tadic provided the wide options to the lone striker.

This is considerably different to the way that Leicester City have looked in recent times. If Puel did want to use a similar shape, he would be short of a playmaker.
Puel had Ward-Prowse, Davis and Tadic operating in central areas as creators last year. While Riyad Mahrez is similar to Tadic, Leicester don’t really have the central creators that Southampton had.
Vincente Iborra looks good on the ball, and Adrien Silva will add a lot when he joins in January, but Puel will have to be inventive if he wants to replicate his tactics from last year.
