As Leicester City take on Everton on Sunday, Foxes of Leicester picks two player-battles which could win or lose the game, pinpointing the most influential players and their opposite numbers.

Jamie Vardy Vs Ashley Williams

This could be explosive, as they’ve gone at each other’s throats in previous seasons. Jamie Vardy has the strength to go along with his pace, though Ashley Williams would like to think he has the defensive acumen to deal with it – we shall see.

Everton pride themselves on a tight defence, so if they go 1-0 up, be sure that they will convert to a more compact formation during the game (they will park the proverbial bus in the last ten minutes if winning).

A defensive or low-backline will hinder Vardy’s chances for his typical goal – running fast against a high-backline. What’s more? Ashley Williams is a master of verbal communication that often leads to an organised defence.
