Leicester City’s unbeaten run extended to an impressive six games, with the Foxes’ drawing 2-2 against Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium.

The Foxes began the game brightly while the Potters sat deep to try and hit their guests on the break, though it was Leicester who drew first blood. Vicente Iborra found himself at the right place on the best possible moment, scoring his first goal for the East Midlands outfit to give his side the lead.

However, Stoke City bounced back soon after, perhaps against the run of the play, thanks to Xherdan Shaqiri, who calmly slotted it past Kasper Schmeichel to draw level. Whether or not could Leicester City have done better to protect the lead is an interesting question.

Claude Puel’s side began the second-half very strongly again, though to no real avail. On a day when a lot of Leicester City players were guilty of wasting their chances, Riyad Mahrez then came to the rescue with a finely constructed and scored goal, handing the lead back to Leicester.

Unfortunately, the lead didn’t last long again, thanks to Christian Fuchs’ inability to deal with Peter Crouch, and the latter’s capability to simply head it into the net. Only Jermaine Defoe and Shola Ameobi have more goals as a sub than the Stoke City forward now.

Mark Hughes’ side may have even the game but for Kasper Schmeichel, as the Danish brilliantly made a last-minute save to earn his side a point. Twitter, as always, had a lot to say.
