It hasn’t necessarily been a dream run for Leicester City in the Premier League.

The Foxes have had a chastening start to the season, losing one game after another to finally oversee another managerial sacking at the King Power Stadium: Craig Shakespeare.

However bad it may have been for the team, there have been a few players who have managed to stand the test of time with their performances.  Even with the defeats, may it be at the back or in front of goal.

Leicester City are now showing signs of improvement under Claude Puel, it appears to be the right time to acknowledge the best of the lot so far. The Foxes of Leicester team has its say, as every writer picks his best three for the Foxes.

Harneet Singh’s picks

Harry Maguire

One of the signings of the season in the Premier League. When signed from the relegated Hull City, many were of the opinion that he would take some time to adapt; however, Harry Maguire has comfortably settled into the side, winning over the fans with his dominant displays in what has been a tough campaign for Leicester City.

Not only does the England international have excellent defensive nous, but he is also a modern, ball-playing centre-back, an ability that he has put to use more often than not. If he continues the way he is, Leicester may have to put in a bit of effort themselves to keep hold of him.

Riyad Mahrez

Riyad Mahrez was initially a cause for worry for Leicester City, as the Algerian struggled to be his own self for a long-long time. It still can’t be termed a good season judging by his own high standards, but why he finds a place in the top three is because of the impact he has had in City’s revival.

The Algerian has had a direct hand in five goals in his last four games, assisting three and scoring two in a run featuring West Bromwich Albion (H), Swansea City (A), Everton (H) and Stoke City (A). One might think that his contribution is quite possibly why Leicester look better than before.

Jamie Vardy

The one player who you’d always expect to give his all. With six goals in the Premier League, Jamie Vardy sits at the top of the Leicester City scoring charts ahead of Shinji Okazaki, who has five in all competitions. It isn’t just the goals that Vardy deserves praise for, but the work ethic when he’s not scoring too.

It’s this quality of giving his 100% throughout the game that Leicester City benefit from, and this season has been no different in the very regard. People often talk about his goalscoring, but they don’t give him enough credit for the space he creates for others with his petrifying runs, something that’s a nightmare for any defender.
