Goalkeeper/Defence

Kasper Schmeichel – 7

Safe, assertive and self-confident. Could do nothing about either goal. Kept the score down with some fine saves throughout.

Danny Simpson – 6

Made some great early interceptions. Allowed the dangerous Leroy Sane too much space in the first-half. Allowed David Silva to get past him for their opener too. Committed yet couldn’t cope with his man today.

Wes Morgan – 6

Captain Wes Morgan is more reliable this season. Although Leicester City  have been through style/manager changes, he seems to be making less mistakes and is more mobile. Not at fault for a goal.

Harry Maguire – 7

The organised and disciplined nature of his play along with Schmeichel’s assertiveness contributed to Manchester City’s struggle to score for the first 45 minutes. Nearly scored in the opening seconds of the second-half. Still looked to play out to feet calmly at 2-0.

Christian Fuchs – 6

The Austrian looked to play Demarai Gray in ahead of him. Positively casual, kept Raheem Sterling quiet during the first half. Helped compact the play while the Sky Blues had the vast majority of possession. Ran a bit ragged in the second-half and couldn’t keep up with Sterling towards the end as a consequence.
