West Ham vs Leicester City: What happened the last time these two met?
By James Lassey
After the 2-0 loss last time out to Manchester City, manager Claude Puel’s Leicester head to West Ham on Friday in the hope of returning to winning ways, but what does history tell us?
City currently sit four points above their opponents, who have been performing well below expectations and occupy the last relegation place in eighteenth.

Will history repeat itself?
The last time these two met was in March in what was previous manager Craig Shakespeare’s third game in charge.
Leicester had hit three first-half goals in the space of 33 minutes and ran out 3-2 winners. The loss extended West Ham’s win-less streak to three, a statistic which could happen again, if the hosts fail to beat Leicester this time round.
Goals from Riyad Mahrez, Robert Huth and Jamie Vardy led Shakespeare to victory despite consolations from Manuel Lanzini and Andre Ayew.
Since then either side has only seen one player leave with Danny Drinkwater opting to go to Chelsea for £35 million on the summer transfer deadline day and Hammer’s goalkeeper Darren Randolph now playing for Championship outfit Middlesborough.

Newly appointed West Ham manager David Moyes invites the Foxes to the London stadium for his second game at the helm. Moyes last played Leicester when he was manager of Sunderland and saw his Black Cats side lose 2-0.
The two managers have not came face to face since Puel’s previous club Southampton overcame Moyes’ Sunderland 4-0 last February.
However, Moyes cannot take much joy from West Ham’s record against the Foxes either as they have not beaten Leicester since their 2-0 win back in December 2014, having lost five and drawing one of the last six meetings.
Overall West Ham lead Leicester in the head to head tally with 51 wins to Leicester’s 47 and the pair have failed to break each other down on another 30 occasions.
