West Ham 1-1 Leicester City : Lessons learned
By James Lassey
Claude Puel’s Leicester could not overcome West Ham despite taking the lead early on but what did we learn from the score draw.
Marc Albrighton opened the scoring thanks to a low Jamie Vardy cross however Cheikhou Kouyate rose highest to head home the equaliser from a corner on the stroke of half time. The result extends the Foxes unbeaten record over West Ham to six.
Albrighton flourishing in central role
Having appeared in the first eight Premier League games under former manager Craig Shakespeare on the right wing, Puel has opted to play the 28-year-old behind lone striker Vardy.
A switch which seems to have invigorated Albrighton, he showed spark and creativity during the Foxes 2-2 with Stoke and again in Friday’s draw away to West Ham.
He was very much worth his goal as he continued to link up play and looks as though he could become a great asset for Puel.
Hopefully the former Aston Villa man can really kick on and start to add goals to his game. His last goal was back in May during last season’s 3-0 win over Watford and only managed four in his 47 appearances.
