Preview: Leicester City Vs Burnley
The King Power Stadium is a happy place again. That 2015/16 feeling has returned again. Christmas at Leicester City could be merry again.
Leicester City are back to their imperious best, having beaten Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 on Tuesday, and it is increasingly looking like they are back to being the genuine threat they once were to any side in the Premier League.
Now that they’ve managed to find a way past the flair and finesse of Tottenham Hotspur, they must now overcome the sternness and solidity of Burnley, who generally don’t lose these days.
In fact, that’s what Sean Dyche sets his side up for – to not lose. There are a few ways of looking at such a defensive tactic, but one can’t doubt just how effective it is, given that your team is ready to put in a shift, something that Burnley do week in and week out against each and every team.

Against a group with such excellent work ethic, Leicester City may be up against their toughest opponent this season, for there’s no team that can currently match the Clarets on that front, not even Manchester City.
Therefore, it’s important for Claude Puel to have his tactical side at its peak, and ensure that he has the right set of players on the pitch to break the visitors down. This is not the kind of game where you can simply opt for pace and expect Jamie Vardy to get in behind like he so often does; this game requires prowess and a bit of innovation too, so it’s down to Puel to see who can do the job best.
One to Watch
It’s a game that Leicester City need Riyad Mahrez the most in. He’s the chief creative force in the side, the best player on paper, and a man who remains capable of ripping open any defence in the world.

With the skill, pace and vision that Mahrez has, if he can step up against Burnley and produce a world-class display, there’s no reason why the home side won’t get all the three points.

It is just small details that we need to pick up on to the get the maximum points out of those games.”"
