Claude Puel heaps praise on Leicester City workhorse
Leicester City boss Claude Puel has heaped praise on Marc Albrighton, with the Foxes star fast becoming a regular feature of the Frenchman’s first-choice XI.
The 28-year old had initially failed to get a spot in Claude Puel’s side, missing out in the first two games. At the time, it felt as if it might be the end of the road for Albrighton at the King Power Stadium, but the Englishman has finally found a way back into the team.
And it’s all down to Marc Albrighton’s industry, which is what Claude Puel is most pleased with, as well as being impressed with the qualities that he has as a player.
Speaking highly of his midfielder, Puel said:
"“It was difficult at the beginning because he was a starting player and the first couple of games were difficult for him but it is never finished with me if a player shows his quality.“It is important to reward him if he deserves it.“Sometimes when not playing the player can come back with ambition after disappointment.“He works a lot. We see that a lot on the pitch.“I think it is a good thing for him to improve because we need a completed squad with all the players to play these games. It is important to offer different solutions.”"
As underappreciated as Marc Albrighton is, his ability has never been the subject of doubt among those in the know. The former Aston Villa footballer was a key part of the Leicester City side that won the Premier League in 2015/16, and while he had a hard time under Craig Shakespeare at the start of this season, he is getting back to his best now.
Leicester will, of course, hope that he can carry on his good run of form as they enter the festive period on a high themselves, with the Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against Manchester City coming up as well.

Before that, however, Leicester City have trips to Newcastle United and Southampton and a home fixture against relegation-threatened Crystal Palace, followed by the Citizens’ visit to the King Power Stadium.
