Having been linked to various Premier League clubs and with his game time at a minimal, it has looked as though striker Islam Slimani was on his way out.

The Algeria international was initially given the chance due to Jamie Vardy suffering a groin strain and he took his opportunity superbly.

From the off, he looked a renovated and hungry player who pressed his opposing number relentlessly and in the second-half his hard work was rewarded.

Mahrez broke and played in the six-foot two forward who delivered an expertly taken lob over the incoming Jonas Lössl.

With the goal came a burst of newly found confidence and Slimani was there again but this time to provide Albrighton with an easy finish.

He has now had a hand in 11 goals (6 goals, 5 assists) in his 15 Premier League starts for Leicester.
